I am still getting to know the latest addition to my family (a 1986 westie) one of the things i am puzzled about.......how cold will the fridge go .....there are a couple of ice making tray thingies on the cold bit in the fridge (you can see i have a complete grasp of the technicalities) BUT the the cold bit never gets cold enough to freeze anything. The thermostat clicks about half way round could this be faulty or what ...............HELP ........i am sat with a whisky and no ice ...........................

36 hours sounds plenty. Make sure the van is level - even a slight lean can severely hamper the operation of the fridge. I've made ice and frozen meat in the freezer compartment of mine so believe me they can get that cold. (I'm assuming you have a freezer compartment) Has the fridge been unused for a substantial period of time? The liquid inside can slightly 'set' and have difficulty evaporating. The remedy people recommend is to remove the fridge and stand upside down for 24 hours, turn the right way up and leave 24 hours again - this loosens everything (I think).

Use the 'search' facility at the top of the page to see previous posts about fridge problems.
