Is it worth fitting an oil temp gauge?

Hi all,

Don't know if this sounds like a dumb question :?, but have fitted a VDO oil pressure gauge to keep an eye on things just incase the old 'buzzer of dread' thang kicks in ever again - at least then hopefully have a better idea if it's false alarm or not whilst moving?

Thing is, is there much benefit too to installing an oil temp guage/sender, or is just keeping an eye on the water temp gauge etc, just as good as giving a good idea if the engine is getting hotter then it should do? Hope that makes sense! :?

Any thoughts as usual, always appreciated.

Cheers. Brian
