I have a set of multivan alloys that I want to put on my 91 SA microbus. Can anyone tell me if I need different bolts etc to the ones holding my stock steels on?
Also, can you recommend trye size (it's stock height).
Thanks
Shane

You'll need taper seated nuts and bolts as yours will be radius seated...all available from
www.brickwerks.co.uk
Tyres:
205/70/14C or 185R/14C's.

Thanks Steve. What about length? Safe to also assume I don't need any spacers?

No spacers required...just the taper nuts and 35mm long bolts.
In fact i'd recommend fitting a stud conversion to the front instead of the bolts so you can have nuts all round and it makes it alot easier to fit the front wheels as well.

Makes sense, I'll go for the studs as well then. Will order the lot tomorrow. Thanks mate.

Already did a search and tried all the tyres in that list. Can't find any.
Looks like these carat wheels need 205/70/14s

looks like they may have those in stock at mytyres. Do they have to be bias ply tyres? Can't I get something more modern fitted? Also, mytyres fitting is £16.50 per tyres+vat

You can fit 95H tyres designed for MPV's etc but VW do state a minimum load rating of 97 for commercial(6 or 8 ply)tyres on 5.5X14" and 6"X14" wheels.
Use your own local tyre fitter to have them fitted for about a tenner each or at least ask them if they can get the 205/70/14's and if they will do a price match?

Put the standard tyres on my carat alloys to correct the speedo error, plus I had a new set on the steelys anyway.

so you're saying 205 70 14s as well then?

No! The 185 R14's, standard tyre, slightly higher profile and the speedo is more accurate. As I said, I had a brand new set on the steels and transferred them to the ally's.

Ok, so now brickwerks is shut for holidays. Where to get the nuts and bolts?
