T25 sliding door question

Can anyone help - I've just bought a Type 25 but part of the sliding door mechanism was missing so I couldn't open the door without it falling off!

Looked like this when I got it.....

I sourced a part for it but think it's the wrong one as it sits too high on the pivot arm (probably not the correct name for the bent black piece wich sticks up) and the wheel and guide don't sit on the rail part fixed to the van.
It looks like this..........

or am I being a pillock and have put it on wrong??!!!

Is this part year specific? and is this bit therefore of a different model?
My bus is a 1982 air cooled 2.0 litre, RHD.

Many thanks.
Kerry.

did the part come from a rhd van? I think they are different for o/s and n/s doors.

yes they were both RHD but the van the part came off may have been a later model I think?

pretty sure that the sliding door changed around 1983/4 so I think you would need the fitting from a early door
