Ive got a autohomes van and the water tank is under the rock and roll. I use the wardrobe for storing various items, so where do other autohomes who have lpg have there lpg tank? I thought of may be taking out the water tank and getting a lpg tank under there instead but as other autohomes know there is less space for a tank, so if any of your have your lpg there whats the tank size?

always 3 options for new water tank

1)dont bother /use bottled water
2)use jeey can style container behind drivers seat with submersesiable pump
3)use under slung water tank under the van

Our wheels are 15" so the spare doesn't fit underneath the van. If we had lpg fitted (still saving) we'd put a donut tank where the spare should be. Is that an option for you? We keep the spare in the van (in a handy bag from ikea) and just shove it underneath when we are camping.

We did consider taking out the watertank under the bed as we don't really use it but I don't want to mess with the conversion if we don't have to.

Thats a good idea about the spare wheel as I have wide borbets and have no use for the spare wheel thanks!

you could get a water tank to fit under the van - cak tanks is the place for them. I've got a fresh water and a waste water tank under mine

We are getting our autohomes converted next week.
The 60 litre tank will be going in the wardrobe.
Steve showed me one that he had jsut done when i visited him.
It was definately a snug fit.....but it just about works!
The drawer box (on the engine lid) will have to be reduced in width by a tad , as the wardrobe will creep over slightly.
I thought about getting rid of the water tank and fitting tank under bed too but , even then it would be very tight because of the design of autohomes R&R bed......not so much space under there , hence the amasingly wierd shaped water tank!!

PS.... apparently the regulations will prevent you fitting an LPG tank underneath the van (spare wheel carrier) because of the distance between tank and road.......unless you have a high syncro.
Only viable option is wardrobe.

Looks like www.gasure.co.uk hava a new tank.

47ltr zero degree tank (600mm x 200mm) specifically for the Type 25 (T3) to fit in place of the spare wheel

i just took out our water tank, AH 1986 Kamper , and wuz orrified to find two bad rusted areas , partly from tank condensation i guess, and partly becos the thick insulation (sound) underside at that point was hanging off just a wee bit -- worth checking , and if like us you hardly use the water tank , i would respectfully suggest you replace it with an lpg one and use the water filler aperture as lpg fill

Its not a new tank its been there for ages, we just don't recommend it as it is very small, you will get 37 useable litres of gas in it, at around 20-22 mpg enough to get you about 170 odd miles against a decent size tank to get you 250 miles plus, as always its your choice.
