Hi all... my oil burner is making a real racket and I dont know why. When its on reasonable load on the engine, and reasonable (3300) rpm I seem to get a 'gushing noise' of what sound like air.
Coupled with this their is a power loss thing going on at the same time.....
Any ideas???

Sounds like your blow off valve is leaking.
inlet manifold >> black thing with brass screw.
Remove from vehicle, undo brass screw, remove spring, replace spring with 20mm of 8mm tube or similar, replace screw and tighten enough to stop the valve opening.

I've seen a couple of instances where the fibreglass wadding in a badly corroded after market exhaust silencer has collasped blocking the exhaust which causes a loud hissing sound as pressure desperately tries to escape.
