No Brake Lights

My brke lights have stopped working.
I've done a search and shorted the switch in the master cylinder out and the lights come on so I'm pretty certain it the switch.
Where can I get a switch from? ( dealer only?)
Can I get one from any VW dealer or only a van center?
When I remove the old one am I going to end up with brake fluid all over?
Do I need to bleed anything once I've put my new one in ?
thanks

Yes its defo your switch. You might be lucky when you put the new one back in and you may not have to bleed the system out. I didnt !
Beware ! I fitted a new one from GSF cars a while ago and it failed leaving me with no brakes. So when you fit the new one, start the engine to get the servo working and stand on the peddle to pressure test it.
You should do this regularly anyway to test the whole system is ok.

yes they should have them. Its a simple 1/8" BSP screw in pressure activated switch. Some have three terminals most have simply the 2.

just bought one for the local motor shop.
Everything looks the same but the spade clips are set wider apart.
Do you think it will still work correctly if I alter my connectors to make them fit?
