I have a little fridge problem.......
spent all week fitting our fridge to run off gas - cutting the hole for the flu etc.
today i've tried to get it working and it won't ignite, there is gas going near to the spark because if i push the button in for a few seconds then press the igniter thingy i get a 'poof' of spark, but it won't stay lit.
has anyone got any tips on how to get the bliddy thing working?????
I am now at the end of my teather with fridges

I feel your pain.
Just got a leisure battery today and also replumbed the gas for our van and not to surprised but the fridge doesn't work off either.
Will try Rob's tip though.
Ignoring the fridge though I did have a fun 3 hours tinkering with the van tonight.

you need to prime most of these fridges by pumping the knob in and out a few times.then hold it in whilst pressing the igniter a few times.once ignited.keep knob pressed in for about 30 seconds.
as for your leisure battery.the fridge should not run directly of it.it runs on 12v only when the engine is running.your battery would run down very quickly.if you tried to run it direct.

cheers rob, I'll have another fiddle with the knob this morning (

) I was keeping it pushed in, but I don't think for as long as 30 minuites.
failing that i have a cooler bag

I find turning the gas down on the fridge to number one helps mine when igniting it. When it's turned up higher it keeps 'poofing' out.

your arm will be aching.if you do it for 30 mins
but I don't think for as long as 30 minuites

my fridge (Electrolux RM122B) don't like gas, won't even go poof when I try to light it. Can't see a spark or anything. Works on 240v though.
Hasn't been used for ages by the looks of things, had to use WD40 on the knob to be able to to it push in, pushed it loads and held it in for ages several times, to no avail... it just doesn't want to light. Any ideas what could be wrong?
In the meantime, for anyone who wants it, a nice man at Electrolux sent me this today, for the RM122B, although thats not what it says on the front...

I will try with the gas turned low but i'll have to guess it cos me knob's dropped off (this thread is just filled with innuendo

)
errr rob, i think i meant to type seconds!!! i think the van would blow up if i let the gas run for 1/2 hour!!!!
cheers ambivert, that does look remarkably like my fridge..........and it looks like everything is set up correctly, maybe I have a duff 1
will just be putting freezer blocks in the fridge for the time being and using it as a cool box - ho hum

Hi. I've got a RM122 as well (gas/12V only) and finally got it working on gas (fixed leaks etc.) and then tried again the other day with a new gas bottle just to check it and the thermometer was still showing 14°C, 24 hours later (after I'd forgotton to turn the gas off... TIMMY). Anybody got any ideas? Read the PDF, but hasn't really helped. Van is level, knob has dropped off though

Off to Eastbourne tomorrow and would like to keep beer cold
