at the moment im building a 2.1
i got hold of a broken 2.1 off GAVVAN(cheers mate)
and im putting back together
there was only 3 liners anygood so i sourced the 4th liner from a 1.9
as the are the same size according to many people
anyway on assembling all the components ive got to the last cylinder
and couldnt get the piston into the liner
on closer investigation i noticed the piston diameter was different
94.480 compared to 93.991 i know the 2.1 was a recon at the start
and ive had to have 20 thou removed from the liner has anybody got any idea why the pistons was oversized :?: or what the would be off?

many thanks Tony

Tone perhaps the donor of the single pot had been rebored O/S ? From memory the 93.991 is the standard .... I'll pop out to the workshop and ID the 2.1 barrels I have there.

OK, so ... all 4 of my 2.1 barrels are 93.99 according to my verniers.

Hi Ian
ive got 3 liners at the larger size and im having the 4th rehoned to suite
i was wondering what difference it s going to make to CCs
i know 20 thou isnt a lot but over the 4 its got to make a difference
