T25 camper - 1982 - I am trying to refit the rubber damping rings on the end of the connecting links but cannot compress them enough to get the nut on the thread. Is there a special tool or technique?

Hi there
Simply compress the stub axle upwards with a trolley or bottle jack. A word of warning though, if you have changed the anti roll bar bushes and drop link bushes (inc the awkward ones on end of anti roll bar) - if you tighten everything up with the van jacked up, then lower it and drive away, you may find the anti roll bar pops off the link at end, as the new rubbers are so taught.
Good tip is to do up the nuts 3/4 way then lower van and do them up say 80% before going on a short test drive to bed them in. Then tighten fully.
I dont know if this is an accepted way of doing it but just a way I learnt by trial and error, and the odd swear word!
God luck..
