Hi there,
Ive had an 88 T25 autosleeper hi top for around a year. Body work and inside are good but small areas of rust are appearing. Nothing major light, small patches of bubbling in a few areas. Around the very edge of wheel arches, some parts of wheel arch pannel seems and at the base along the sides (under sliding door and opposite side). I did a bit of kurust treatment on other areas just had to brush them clean, paint and dab it in then touch up paint brushed over. What should I do with with visible areas. Dont want to leave it to get worse and worse. Ive read the wiki but also dont want to rush in too quick with a wire brush. Also not sure how I would make good again after treatment... what sort of finish can you get with a spray can?

Any advice?

stitch in time...

consider a bottom half respray... then it all looks the same.

ask at commercial van sprayers (yellow pages)

fill in you location in your profile then folks by you can give local advice

There's no point doing a respray till you've sorted out the rust....

If the rust bubbles are right on the seam line then you may be able to clean out the seam and cure the rust. Most of the rust around arches comes from inside out though, so waxoyl the back of the seams to prevent re-occurance.

If the bubbles are away from the seam (more than a few mm) then the rust is a bit more serious or someone else has already done a respray over rust.

It all depends on whether you want it to look pretty for a year or whether you want to stop the rot and look after your van (and your investment)
