Is there an early / late split on starter motors for petrol engine vans? Hercules recommended this supplier recently but the listing states that it's for 1986-92 so I'm thinking it'll not be suited to our 1985 van?

All i can offer here is that i have an early 1.9 van and when i swapped the engine for a late 2.1 i used the same starter motor, so physically they fit ok and up to yet it does the job.

From memory there's a difference in the length of the 8mm positive stud.
