Hi all,
Could anyone pls help me sort out which size fan belt I need so I can finally get away to move to France? I've been to 3 suppliers including Halfords, and not got very far - can't determine between approx 5. - was hoping this would be an easy one!
I have a 1986 T25 16,00 diesel. C reg. One place wanted the chassis size from reg. doc - all I have on the doc is the chassis no. WV2ZZZ25ZGH031201.
I looked at the old belt which read 620 4MC but was told it must be a different make to the ones they stock.
One place gave me 2 to take home and "try" 10A0915C and a 10A0875C, but it would be good to start off with the right one! Unfortunately I can't fit it myself.
The screetching started just as I drove off from the garage that just replaced the relay box - I hope this is just a coincidence - I'm assuming nothing but the fan belt makes a noise like that!
Many great thanks to anyone who can help,
Cathy
(AndyVany's friend who you helped re. mis -fitted linkage who still has not left Scotland for France - groan).

I believe there are only two. One for 90 amp alternator is 6224mc which is 10x1100. This is for the later models. As yours is an 86 i'm not sure. If you take yours off and measure it if it has no writting left on it this will tell you which one. One is longer than the other. Hope this helps.

Thank you for that help.
That tallies with the number I found on the old belt - but the suppliers I went to didnt recognise it, or have it on their computer/catalogue, saying it must be a diferent make. Do you by any chance recognise the 2 they gave me? 10A0875C and 10A0915C.
An animal indeed
Thanks

I'm not a geek  no sorry the only reason i know what i know is because i bought a spare one on Friday. Try VW/Audi or the aftermarket one i bought was made by a company called Gates. Which was recommended.

Thanks very much for your help. Geek? that must be me, at least as far as spare parts go - how difficult can a simple fan belt be?

Those part numbers look to have the belt length as part of the number ie 875 and 910 mm long
