Hi
I was winding her up in third to pass a van and the govener on the rotor cut in and I did the safest thing and backed off , had another go in top and sailed past . Did I read somewhere it was safe with these Aircooled to remove the bits on the rotor or should I not bother in future and pooter round like the old man I should be .
Appreciate an answer , thanks .

If you were to put a static rotor on it and drive like a divvy, you will be in need of an engine very soon.....

Fritz,,,,,,,,,

PS, where I live (near Liverpool) a divvy is a nice way of calling someone a 'Dick-head'

The limiter is set to 5400 rpm from memory.
There is really no need to rev an engine up to that as all the power and torque has long gone!
Revving it harder does nothing other than make more noise.

if there`s a fault with the rotor arm which is causing the limiter to cut in prematurely then change it for a new one if its because your reving the nuts of it take the ignition key to the nearest t25 enthusiast and insist he locks it away untill you wise up.

then buy a golf.
