Electric windows

Both of the motors on my electric windows have died and haven't worked since I got the van. Now it's getting warmer I need opening windows
So, the question is, is it easier/cheaper/more reliable/possible to replace them with manual winders or should I replace the motors?
And the next question is ... where do I get winders or motors from? Anyone got any spare?
TIA

I've got elec windows and posted on your old thread.
I recently had a problem with mine, managed to get the door cards off (lots of extra switches and wiring to deal with)
I got a 10mm spanner on the two bolts that hold the motor on to the regulator( a bit tricky and if you have a small Skt set this might work better)
With the motor off I could get a screwdriver into the D shaped slot and turn the regulator by hand, lots of grease and some new wire on the motor and all is well again.
As I said on my earlier reply, the motors require a fairly high current, so good earths and connections are esential.
Getting the motor back on was fiddly, due to very limited access, but I'm blessed with small hands.
Haynes does say cut the regulator cables if the window wont lower, but that would mean replacing the regulators.

Thanks for the replies and apologies for the late thanks. I've been a bit busy lately.
I think I'm going to go for manual. I can see me fiddling around for ages to get the elec windows working only for them to seize up again next winter. As Krisis says, manual are more reliable.
Thanks again.

I CAN OPEN MY WINDOWS AT LAST
I thought it might never happen. Got some manual window kit from cj at Synchrospares. Top bloke, did a great job
Advantage of manual is you can open the windows while you're parked up without switching the ignition on.
Thanks again cj, you're a star!
