just bought a Aircooled 1980 westy there is liitle heat coming out of the cab dash vents (only the ones near side window) heater exchangers and tubes all in place which of the 3 leavers controls heat fresh air etc as i know is unhooked from the leaver.
should there be a fan in the cab dash area there is a hole for a two speed switch but no wires or signs of a fan if not what is meant propel the heated air.
sorry for no punctuation but holding a baby

I have a 1980 bus - Aircooled - there is nothing to propel the heated air!!! Am sure an expert will be along to explain n depth, but there is no heater matrix to pull hot air from the radiator and push it into the cab - it has to work its way from the engine, down the length of the van (cooling all the ay) and into the cab. Mine was HOPELESS. But some work very well once all the exchangers are tight, and the main tube is insulated. Need to make sure all the levers and cables work too - mine don't. Got an eberspacher to heat the van.

hahahaha..........
no seriously, the fan is in the engine bay, on the alternator - so more engine revs, more blowie blowie, and unless the pipework is virtuly airtight, you wont notice.
The heater pod control cables ( take a peek in the rear wheel arches, on theinside of each wheel) need to be closed - lever to front of he van.....dash control cable or not,
most "wire" them in the right position.....

Agree with all of the above - I think an extra blower up front was an option to augment the fan on the alternator. Some people add their own version - Bluebird do one - or take a look
