Following theft of one of our vans, I want to improve security on our other vans.
Am thinking of visual deterent (e.g. steering lock / wheel clamp), plus maybe immobiliser of some sort. Not sure what types are effective.
What systems do people recommend?

If using Toad, use Clifford stickers.. Clifford with Toad stickers, etc. Don't advertise what kind of alarm/immobilizer you have.

Noisy alarm and immob, and some visual detterents like steering locks, wheel lock etc. Slow `em down enough for `em to try elsewhere. Dead-locks on all doors to prevent easy lock picking/screwdrivering.

Clutch Claw seems to be a good deterent - has flashing LED so even though its low down you can see the flashing in the cab area at night.

Automotive deadlocks available from various places, try van security websites.

Don't you think deadlocks a bit pointless with all that glass around?

Guy with a mint Atlantic in the display hall at Vanfest last year had a removable steering wheel, simple job, adapter boss fitted as usual then the wheel just clicked into place and locked with a pin.

Seems most break-ins are opportunists using screwdriver or similar to attack the (allegedly) weak standard locks and just opening the doors. Bit more reluctant to start making lots of noise smashing glass I reckon. Deadlocks also useful to lock yourself IN at night, loadsa reports of vans door-locks being forced and people robbed while sleeping, in Europe on Services de Aire. Deadlocks will stop this. People are using big straps through the front inner door handle to secure the doors together to prevent opening, deadlocks achieve the same and are quick and easy to lock, same with the tailgate and slider locked from inside.
