I have a gas problem

I have just bought a 86 joker from Germany - it has no underslung gas tank. I have tried to fit a hose to the fridge but the screw-in connecter on the fridge doesnt seem to fit any of the connecters that are avaliable in the camping accessory shops - 1/4 seems the closest but the threads dont match - does Germany use different fittings?

Any ideas?

Muchos Gracias

Gaslow have the parts you need http://www.motorcaravanning.co.uk/shopu ... alogue.htm
Look at the small sticker inside your fridge, I think it is expecting gas at 50Mbar as will the cooker, if you use regular Propane or Butane regulators you will have issues
You will want a 50MB regulator Gaslow part no. 01-1750

this will go straight in a UK Propane bottle, you will need a hose to attach to the regulator and connect to whatever your gas input is, 8mm Copper ?
Please speak to them though before you order anything...
but I would recommend the 50 Mbar regulator especially as its only £6 !
You want to be coming in to the gas system where all the on/off taps are so you can isolate easily, I wouldn't recommend trying to go straight to the fridge...
remember all this is potentilly lethal stuff, if you have a gas bottle in your kitchen you should really have a "drop hole" to outside so the heavier gas can fall out of the van..

I had the same issue, no underslung tank but a campingaz bottle connected to the valve manifold inside the cupboard.

I sourced an underslung tank and had problems with the fittings - none of the brass fittings worked 'cos thread pitch was different. I finally sourced some stainless fittings of the same saize that were perfect. I guess that as stainless is a harder material the thread is not as fine (and matches the westy fittings).

I sourced mine from BES.co.uk, I think they were 8mm - not cheap though.

Have just spent a weekend drinking warm beer so defo need the gas option.

May look at getting a underslung tank over the winter - How long do you go between fills?
