Hi
--------------------------------------
Year of manufacture - 1981
Engine size - 2L
left or right hand drive - left
transmission type: manual
Fuel type: lpg & petrol
---------------------------------------
While changing the oil in my van last weekend I checked the HT leads.
A couple of the orange ends that fit on the plugs have some cracks.
Should I change the leads or is this usual?

Changed the leads about 2 years ago how often do other change their leads and do you buy from JK or GSF? JK are charging £27 here http://tinyurl.com/57z3zt

thanks

I've just replaced the leads on my air cooled 2.0.
They are metal ends now, dont know if thats significant but at least they wont crack!
If I were you I would change them anyway, just for peace of mind

If they get worse and it gives poor running and starting especially under load.. On LPG the ignition system has to be in good shape... becuase the fuel is more stable it is harder to ignite, so any weakness in the system can be shown up easier..

i dont understand why there is so much T2 stuff around and T25 bits can be hard to find

T25's were the first of the "disposable" vehicles, but VW biult them to well...

+ as they were never considered "a classic" by the aftermarket manufacturers they have never been catered for very well..
Now VW have shunned them.. we are really stuffed... expect to pay a lot more for parts in the coming years...
