dj to aaz

ive got a 1989 dj 1.9 with a 5 speed box and got hold of a (been standing for years)1985 deisel 1.6 non turbo with a 5 speed box complete,i want to fit a 1.9 aaz,all into the 1989 dj engined one which gear box out of the two will be best and are the gear linkages the same and am i right in thinking i will need a jx engine turbo manifold and inlet and would a intercooler help the aaz put a few more hp out
