Does anyone know if you can you buy the two replacement guide rollers for the later style (i think?) sliding door mechanism or do you have to buy the whole arm? Just discovered both of mine are basically non-existant
Found this one ebay which is the same as mine
click me! is it a fair price to pay if I have to replace the whole thing??[/url]

not sure thats a good price, id be looking at sourcing a new one, try VW first, then the ususal suspects, GSF, Eurocarparts ect.
A shout out in the wanteds may find one previously enjoyed from one of the many breakers on here......... if its just the bearings, taking thm down to your local bearing shop may well find you a replacement at lots less........

Cheers Mocki, had thought about going to a bearing supplier but all that's left are the two inner bearing runs and not a lot else! so I've got no idea what size or type they should be.
GSF no-joys, had never heard of Europarts so will give them a try, any ideas of a VW part number?

To be honest I did not think it was too bad if it is the £25 one I saw, I paid £40 from a scrap yard a few years back.

The bottom roller bearing is very wierd vw only part, the guide rollers are ubiquitous so bsl or similar, but actually not much cheaper than vw. The rear roller is again special, but it is possible to machine out the old bearing from the roller and fit something more common if you have access to machine shop, otherwise it's an arm and a leg job. £40 not bad if the bearings are good, some bits obsolete, the rest frighteningly expensive.
