Hope this helps, it's not clear.

The points of reference to remember are; the centre of the VW Badge and the upper fold line in the tail gate.

Let me know how you get on and what parts you used, I want to do the same mod.

Thanks[/img]

The picture came from a thread on a German VW Bus forum "www.forumvwbus.de" where I sometimes lurk.

I cannot guarantee the accuracy of the dimensions, but they look about right.

What are you doing about the wiring and switching?

I have the motor assembly, but there is no wiring loom behind the headlining.
So it looks like I'll have to run a cable front to back, are you in the same position?

i bought the whole bazooka , (except water res and pump , which i can poach from our old rover hill car ), from billy 739 on 80-90 , seems fine , motor runs anyway . Think i will run cables along upperworks somewhere , down a- pillar and to fusebox, which i have not yet even looked at for relay etc . As it happens , i replaced the tailgate gas struts last year or so , and they achieve escape velocity if kids open it , so am happy to put weight inc. water res in tailgate if poss . one reason i wanted wiper assy fitted .

I think the water resv. lives in the main body on the left hand side.

You may have water retention problems (or lack thereof) if you mount it in the tailgate its self (and refilling could be tricky).

Jaylo, just done this for ya. It's my Kamper with factory wash/wipe. Compare to what Titus posted and you'll see they are similar but different  Use the VW badge centreline as your datum. The dim from the centre of the badge/wiper arm to the washer is deffo 140mm on my van not 130mm as in Titus's piccie :? I measured from under the rear window seal and from the top press line on the tailgate.
Hope this helps.

The critical one is about the same, that is the one from the fold line to the washer arm centre. 20 or 22 mm.

I don't think the positioning of the washer jet is critical.

But I'd definitely go with Mininuts' measurements as they are from a known source.

Thanks , fellas , and i just did it , perfick , and measurements are, i believe , 392 mm up from base of tailgate ( becos i don`t have a big vw badge , just a push thingy for the lock/opener ) and this equates to 22 mm up from top of top crease on tail;gate ( your 20 mm , near enuff, )and i drilled a 20 mm hole with a cheap holesaw and oil ; all of this is , of course , spot on the tailgate centre line , which is what i didnae really know in the first place . will now drill for squirter , less vital , and maybe look for some wiring etc . if the wind drops a bit . jaylo

I hope you remembered to seal the newly cut edges of the hole with paint.

If you don't the old tinworms will get in and nibble away at your tailgate.

sealed with thick grey primer , after rattailing them smooth - but all that wuz the easy bit , i`ve been peaing about for past two hours trying to get the loom along the top of the "walls" , i.e. where the sliding door light is , i now know exactly  why i am not an autoelectrician . Have now taken autohomes` carpet lining partly off and can see the slots wot make it possible like . But how on earth does one get it down the bee a-pillar ? (that reminds me , sad and laughing like , of Humph lyttelton when he helped Samantha take up bee-keeping , she only had around three dozen bees , but he helped her take out her 38 bees and used his hands to fly them around her head a little ......) jaylo

sorry , should have got back earlier  -- great success with actual installation , fits a treat , --but !! :? trying to get the loom along the "eaves"-- impossible ! Since i have a month`s worth of work on the van , mainly welding and brake pipe renewal which has taken priority otherwise we can`t get to france , i just ignored the wiper and will run the wires underneath in garden hose .

cheers , jaylo
