reservoir caps not available from vw anymore!!!!!!!

just been on to vw lakeside in stoke for a reservoir cap,i was informed that they are not allowed to sell commercial bits anymore,gave me a number of the new vw commercial place in stoke.....van spares or something,only to be told they dont do them and vw dont do them no more...i'de be better off goin to a local car shop........any ideas lads as i dont fancy doin a head gasket.i hope its the cap!!!!!!!!!

GSF ,Eurocarparts , even JK do the i think , does Brickyard do um ?
and there are usually a few on ebay

Why is it they are not allowed to sell commercial parts? .The VW main near me say that .The desk staff are helpfull like cross reference to car parts as same.Can some one tell me why?

I have had this too, I have to go to manchester Stockport or Preston to get my bits now rather than Bolton just down the road

It is a national decision not to sell 025 parts out of the passenger car places apparantly.

etos is still showing the cap as in stock, you just need to order it through a VW commercial place.

yeah duck,i rung the vw commercial place only to be told no!!...so i will try jervis vw tomorrow-right peed off at the mo...marladys van is poorly and ive just finished rebilding a gearbox for my brothers dumper,now got to fit and get it running....ho hum....as dor symptoms,red light keeps comin on,feel warm in the engine bay,nearly got my head taken off by the rush of air when i took the reservoir cap off......any suggestions boys??

Have you tried stoke TPS.
