Does anyone know the best way of removing 6 month old oil stains on concrete, i appreciate they may not completely disappear but any info greatly received.

ask Barry Scott?
Sorry, in all seriousness concrete is very porous, so you'll need something that can sit and eat at it for a while. Caustic Soda?

washing up liquid leave it to soak in, then pour boiling water on it a few times, then a stiff brissled brush....... not sure how well it will work with a stain as old as yours, but works well on month old ones, and you dont have to go buy anything to try it

I know a chemist in the oil industry, she once told me to apply biological washing powder and a bit of warm water, it HAS to be biological, as it 'eats' the oil... rub it in a bit and leave over night then wash off, the sooner you do it after the spill etc the more effective it is

All the above, plus a very generous helping of goats cheese with chives should sort it out. It did for me. Sorry this is the thrush thread innit.
