Blown one of the sockets

I have recently blown the trip switch on my mains hook up. I put a heater into a socket with a 6 amp thingy on it. This then tripped, and the switch will not stay back up. The other socket still works fine.
What have I done?

How can I remedy this?

Cheers for the help.

What conversion is it? Have you checked the socket, the wiring to it, the hook-up socket wiring, anything else relevant?

when you say it won't go back up do you mean

"even now after two weeks it won't go back up"
or
"immediatley after it had blown it wouldn't go back up"

some of the older trip switches will not reset right away otherwise see above!

I am now going to see if it will flick back up now...

It is a Autohomes Kamper conversion by the way.

...No it wont flick back up this is about 4 days after,
any reccommendations suggestions even insults about my ignorance will be welcomed!
