Solid lifters

Hi, finally getting round to re-assembling my motor, its a 1776 CT a la Laurie.
Wanting to fit solid cam followers/lifters intead of standard hydraulic as advised, but wondering where I can get these? Lifter bore wider so 'usual' beetle lifters won't fit and I get blank looks when asking for solid lifters to fit the CT block.

Thanks, D

I think there are more things to buy than just the lifters..when you change over.
The camshafts have to be changed too

Yup, have a standard type 1 cam to fit if I can sort out some solid lifters. If I have to stick with hydraulic, has anyone tried refitting them without the godawful priming procedure and just let them clatter until pumped up?

just keep pumping the new hydr. lifters full of oil using an oil can with a small nozzle on it thru the little hole, untill no more will go in, lie them down, hole upwards until you fit them. did this on my engine and not a clatter!
