Upgrading windscreen washer jets

Noticed most of the european parts dealers (usally the ones who do Syncro bits) sell washer jets with more than 1 jet in them - seems a usefull idea given the size of the screen and the fact they are usally a bit crap.
Anyway, one of mine is a bit spazzed (drivers tipically) and the MOT is looming (though I might get away with it, some of it goes onto the screen - more would if it was actully moving) so I was wondering if anyone knows somewhere in the UK that sells a better than standard jet? or what I can rob some off, I'm guessing these posher ones are probubly just standard golf parts or something and fit fine but does anyone know which one exactly? (don't have a golf so don't know how many jets they have)

Washer jets are pi$$ poor on a T25 at the best of times, as you have said Later versions of most VWs ie Golf etc were fitted with double squirters,,,, so a pair of those would do nicely.

Recently I have found that it was the voltage, or lack of, getting to the pump which caused the poor jet of water rather than anything else.

... too true!
They're an a**hole to get out with pulling the dashboard to pieces in an attempt to squeeze the lugs on the back together, but as you're going to throw them away I ended up butchering them with a little help from a big screwdriver, Mole grips and a large block of wood to get them out!
Putting the new ones in is just as bad ... I bought some single jet one's from Fleabay, first one attempted snapped both the lugs off

put the other in boiling water to soften it up and still snapped off one of the lugs! I managed to wedge them into place at a slight angle as a temporary measure (well ... that was about 2 months ago!!) To be honest the new ones squirt really, really well compared to the old and my bodge job even passed the MOT the other day.
I think as long as water is hitting the screen it should pass the MOT, you might get an advisory note on it, which is what mine got last year, but it should pass all the same ... I think!!

i changed mine from the outside, with the help of a hairdryer, and a small flat screwdriver, the new ones popper straight in, and are no different to the old ones, apart from the jet is moveable now, some muppet had them pointing down at the bottom corners, and they were seized solid, kept bending pins trying to redirect them, you just have to the gentle and not let the pipe pi$$ off theough the hole whilst changing over..........that was awkward!
poor pressure could be carp in the pipes, they are 20 years old after all......apply compressed air whilst jet is off, makes the tank gurgle, and clears the pipes

cool I want to check out my jets as i think i have a leak,, Mocki thanks for the tip on removing rear badges, you need to write a book, 1001 things to do with a hairdryer

My passenger side spurts like a severed jugular but the drivers side is very poor. I'm assuming it's crap in the washer jet, so............where can I get me hands on compressed air - I'm assuming a garage wouldn't appreciate me using their tyre air line to do this?
I'm loathe to remove either or swap them as I've sealed them up to prevent water ingress onto my nice cab floor!

I managed to re-fit one on the driver's side - I bought new ones from VW - by carefully
grabbing the water pipe with a set of pliers, I managed to pull off the old one and fit a new one without the pipe disappearing behind the crash panel!

As Mocki says!
It can be fiddly though ... of course if it all goes wrong, you can remove the dashboard but I don't recommend it!
