Tried out the van last week at Strathyre - smashing - but could have done with a wee bit of heat, snow didn't help.
Anyway have a Trumatic-e 1800 heater but cannot get it working. There is one being used on u-Tube and the guy just clicks the right-hand switch to flame and it seems to activate straight away. Mine doesn't make any noises at all, but the green light is on.
Is the fan meant to come on and is there meant to be noise of the gas trying to light?

Here is a link to the 2400 manual which is a similar model. There are a lot of safety features built into this heater which may prevent yours from working. The first three things to check are a healthy voltage, a healthy gas supply. and an unrestricted air supply/exhaust. And yes, the fan should run, then you should hear a loud click as the solenoid opens the gas valve, then rapid clicking as the burner ignites, then the air should heat (gradually)

Thanks for the help - Forgot to mention, the fan works when it's switched to ventilation - will there be a couple of fuses in the 6'' square black box. It's going to be awkward to get into it, that's why I'm asking before I pull it bits

Hi moanthebairns
Great heaters, very easy to service,
docs below.
If the supply pipe has been fitted to the van from day one there is a high chance it will have an oily residue/sludge in the pipe.
The SB1800 are not very good with junk in the pipe, so its worth checking, I had to replace the pipe last month.
