Clutch slave cylinder modification.

Like a muppet when I put my gerabox back in after some work on it and the adition of a de-coupler, I put the slave cylinder on the wrong way around, so that the banjo was just touching the fuel tank. This obviously had to be rectified.

I fiddled around a bit and found that whilst getting the two 13mm nuts and bolts apart that hold it onto the bracket was easy, holding the little blighter which sits inside the bracket was very difficult. So I modified it.

I drilled a 25mm hole underneath the bolt, and now I can use a socket to tighten the thing up. It took about 2 minutes, and was a lot more rewarding than continually dropping the nut on the gravel.

The hole saw has a 2ft extender bar, and fits right up without having to remove anything. The hole does not seem to weaken the bracket unduly, and there is no noticable flex.

The de-coupler is fantastic, engages-disengages anytime with just an ease off of the throttle. Three lights on the dash is a real bonus. Peace of mind for those long motorway runs. No noticeable handling difference between 2 and 4 wheel drive other than the benefits of no transmission wind up when parking etc.

I like your thinking. The devil is in the detail they say! :idea

Alternatively, weld the nuts in place so that they become captive.
