Gears and Gearstick too far away

Hi,
I seem to remember seeing an extension rod and knob for the gearstick in my Atlantic but can't think where I saw it. Any clues? It bolts onto the top of the existing stick.
Also if there is a way of shortening the throw (distance between eg. 2nd and 3rd), i'd like to know about it. That is one out of the way, long arm, gear shifter in my camper.
Thanks Forum folks,

Gearshifter - I found one on JK and will order it tomorrow. The one on ebay looks as if it extends the stick but the one on JK has a bend in it. I think the bend is for me.
Quickshift - That is precisely what i'm looking for. Now I know i'm not alone if they made an extension and throw shortener thingy. VW is such an easy language to learn.
Thanks very much for your help,

Does anyone have any experience of the quickshifter, anti-reaching to the other side of the van to change gear device? My gearbox is fine, I just want the gear changes to be within reach of my .... reach.
Thanks again,

quick shift kit is good, the one thing that will tighten up everything is a gear lever repair kit from brickwerks or vw. you might find once this is done you wont need the extension bar.

Short shifter is my baby (I designed and had it manufactured), works a treat as many on here will tell you.. but it wont cure worn out bushes etc.. You can get it direct from me or from Brickwerks.
to bring the lever back to you a little closer, you need to check the "UJ" in the middle of the front to rear linkage.. you can adjust this a small amount by lengthening it (undo clamp slide the 2 parts apart a small amount) but check all the other parts of the system are in good fettle BEFORE adjusting..
most have found the extension isnt required after the short shifter is fitted and a small adjustment is made..

I like people who invent those things we all need but don't get around to doing anything about other than wonder why nobody has ever made one. Pleased to meet you.
I've ordered both the extension and the quickshifter. My as-yet-unnamed-van is going in for a full service inc belts, filters, fluids, diagnostics, injectors, tappets etc etc next Thursday so i'll ask the totally excellent engineer if he wouldn't mind adjusting the bits you recommended. If he can, and it works, i'll have an unwanted extension for sale or return. Not a problem.
just bought an alarm and they're coming to fit it on Saturday!! Boy am I enjoying spending all this money I don't have
