What exactly does it describe?

2" bigger wheels
Slightly bigger brakes, still "pooh"
Plastic wheel arches extensions, to rip off
Lower final drive, pain in a*** with engine conversions
Firmer shocks, to compensate for higher unsprung mass
Slightly bigger cv joints, 14" ones are fine.
Different trailing arms to accommodate larger dia tyres, only plus point
Some body strengthening, no problem with 14's

Some 40,000 14" were made ..only 2,300 (or so) 16"
Which means they get the "rare - factor" markup both on purchasing and on 16" specific spares

of all the things I ever thought of my 16, crap brakes wasn't something that ever ever crossed my mind . . . .
or on any of my previous vans, including the Subaru one . . .

Put a big engine in and some big dia tyres and then tell me they are good. I have audi S4 brakes on mine and they are not amazing.

On that note:
Some folks in Germany have fitted 10" brake master cylinders (from a BMW E30 3 series 6 cylinder) which is supposed to increase performance (if not the actual stopping distance) significantly
