has anybody foung it nessasary to enlarge the bolt holes on merc alloys from 12mm to 14mm. wheels for sale on ebay say this has been done, ive never herd such a thing, have you???

Most Merc alloys have a 12mm bolt hole i had to get my SLK wheel bolt holes taken out to 14mm to fit me van cost me £25 for a local engineer to do it for me Stef :D

I had to have my wheels modified to fit the van.

I used a sharp drill bit and a powerfull drill and took it very slow, ensuring that the drill went through at 90°.

All worked fine. then again if you can get them machined for around £25 your probably better off doing that.

thanks guys, another thing to bare in mind, maybe one day ill actually buy some wheels instead of constant contemplation.

hi mate what did you do about the wheel nut seats when you had your stud holes drilled out.

Didnt have to do anything as i bought the correct nuts to fit merc wheels from Si Baxster of Brick-Yard fame :D
