some are glued some are clipped...... i have taken both apart, the glue is easier to get apart if its warm, but its not easy........ check to see if any clips round the edges........ tbh, look for a complete new (used) box, because there isnt a lot you can do if you do get it apart.... nornall y pick them up for about £30 second hand off here, in the wanted sction, or pm the breakers, (syncrospares, syncronutz, T25spares, billy739 ect)

I stripped and repaired the motor on one of our previous vans - the case was clipped together so wasnt a problem.
With the work involved getting to the heater I would think its best to fit a new motor rather than fit another old one

thanks have had another look at it and Iam going to try and get it apart, its got glue on alot of the small tabs around the outer edge so the worst that can happen is I break it getting into the motor and have to replace it anyway.

You say you've taken the heater out and done the WD40 thing and it still not performing right. Now your asking how to split the heater box.
Unless I've read your post wrong I have a quick question.
The blower motor is hidden inside the unit. The bearing that needs the oil is behind the fan and can only be got at by splitting the unit. How did you do it?
The tabs on my unit were heat welded together at the factory. A sharp knife done the job there. Refixed together with blobs of silicone which in the future can be cut if required. look at my posting history and you will see a post with pictures etc for when I did my unit 18 months ago.

I took the whole thing out and put a gallon of the magic stuff where you can see the fan and it did the job as fan was completely seized. After doing this it seemed to work ok, but only on speed 2 and 3. On speed 1, I had voltage going to the fan but it wasn't spinning. After another gallon of WD40 I came to the conclusion that I'd rather change it than go through this again!
Getting the dash out, for me being a one week owner of T25 with no experience, took about 45 mins. All the screws and fittings seem to come out ok with a little manipulation (unscrewing and tightening up again) etc.
I managed to get the fan working again whilst leaving water hoses and heater controls connected so this may work for others.
If anybody knows a part number for said fan assembly! - please let me know! If anyone else does this, I'd recommend lots of WD40, long reach philips screwdriver and big muscles!
If anyone wants to contact about this - please do.

You could do a blow by blow account and then might have the honour of getting it put on the WIKI

(for immortality )

And you get to be a member of the dash out club, you can tell them by the deep furrowed lines in the forehead. Take some pics if you can.

Yes, pics and a blow-by-blow would be great. I'm planning on doing this job in a few weeks.
