what are these guards, how?? where??

hi syncro guru's, i've found a few bits which are slightly confusing me.
there are 2 guards which are supposed to fit the alternator, mines on top of the motor so why it needs gravel guards is beyond me, perhaps they're not for the alternator!!

part numbers 025 199 915 and 025 199 913

These are there to prevent stones from being lifted by the belt and then cutting the belt.
My ribbed belts on my diesels are constantly riddled with small stones stuck in them.

i kind of see what you guys mean, a little over kill what with the exhaust shroud, the splash guards the push rod tube protectors and the bar work under the motor. but hey if thats what it takes, i'll have em!
