ive got a 1.9 AEF diesel engine from a polo that i fitted in my bus.
i was thinking, could i just bolt on a turbo to make it a turbo diesel.
or is it more involved than that?
i was thinking maybe i could get a turbo and manifold from a 1.9 aaz.

any advice appreciated
thanks
John

Yes you can, you will also need a turbo fuel pump to get a decent benefit.

Don't go mad with the boost, internals are different to turbo engines.

Is it an engine out job ?

Reason being that i've just picked up a JX manifold and turbo but i dont know if the turbo works (probably not). I dont want to put it on when i change my engine only to have to take the engine out to remove it when i find out its doesnt work!

Theres no room there with my air filter (off my 1.7d) on - but i imagine the Jx airfilter is different?

Cheers

Pumps are not difficult to find.
