Gearbox Overhaul - T25, 1984, 1900 petrol

Hi - I live near Brighton and am looking to buy a T25 - Two vans I was going to look at have been sold and i have found 1 locally - However - it failed its MOT due to rust/welding.

Needs £800 worth of welding and the gearbox may need work. Is it better to just wait for another one in better shape?

How much would it be to get the gearbox looked at/renovated?

Are there any good places in Brighton?

Thanks a lot - Christian

800 qiud worth of welding is a lot i would look for as best a body work van you can find the rest can be changed overhaulded etc where as rust is a nightmare!!!! Oh and remeber that 800 dont include the repsray of the van after all panels are done !!!

Yup - this philosophy applies across the range, from type 1's to T25's - solid(ish) body is crucial factor - engine less so.
