MoT fail - hazard lights dash light

Failed MoT on lack of dash warning lamp for hazards. I noticed the green indicators LED on the dash flashes for hazard lights, but only with ignition on. Is this right? Or should the LED flash with ignition off, too, for hazards? I'm guessing the MoT wants the dash repeater to be active when engine/ignition is off.

the switch itself should illuminate, around the red triangley bit, check out if the bulb has blown, or if the switch is iffy.....

Sorted! Thanks guys. Went down the MoT station and found I'd left the little brown wire off the bulb in the switch - but don't tell anyone cos I'll look stupid!
