Engine keeps failling me!!

It's a CU t25.

The problem is it will run for anything between 100metres and half a mile and then just die on me (usually at the worst places - e.g. at traffic lights or on roads with double-yellow lines).
And then, with the pedal full down it might start up again after about 20 secs of key turning - but there's virtually no power and I have to limp to a parking space at full revs in 1st or 2nd.

To try and fix the problem just had NOS solex carbs fitted - but it's worse than ever!!

I've changed the coil, the rotor arm and the fuel filter.
(I can see fuel going thr the new filter so I guess it aint the fuel pump)

I suspect the dissy (maybe the Hall sender) - but that's a bit scary for me to try replacing. Would a bad dissy explain such behaviour??

Has anyone ever come across this problem before?

Have you done the leads and spark plugs??

checked the vacuum hoses are all present and correct, with no air leaks?
