Wot's under your bum?!

I have also posted this in the MODIFIED section for maximum exposure
Basically I'm looking to replace the seats in my Transporter.
The originals are back breakers (for me) so wot alternatives have you got in your vans?
Would love a pair of VW capt. chairs...see wanted ad....if the price is agreeable
However, Im not too mechanically (couple of rusty spanners & a jig saw) minded so am after seats that either go straight in or need a wee bit of modifying such as Saab seats.
Any suggestions? Nothing that involves blow torches or scientific calculations please
Thanks

Hi Gal,
It's got to be said, Saab leather seats are so cool.....especially when heated?

Now there's an oxymoron for you!!
If you are going leather, remember they can be bloody freezing to sit on in winter, until the heating element does it's magic. Then loverrrrly
I had a fully loaded turbo Saab 9000 a while back. A hell of lot of car for the money. Strangely more economical (by T25 standards) at 80-90mph than 55-65mph. I wish I had kept the seats now.
I've seen the info on here about fitting Saab seats. Was it easy?
thanks

Mine was non-turbo, but I wish I'd kept the whole bloody car!

Got Saab heated memory seats in mine. Bloomin fantastic! Just needed a couple of rectangular box section pieces across the front and rear of seat runner, a drill, some nuts and bolts and a connecting block with some wire and a small fuse panel. Oh yeah... You have to know where the wires go too!

Hi again VWcamperfan,
Good to here from you again.
I guess I'll probably head down the Saab seat route too. As much as I would prefer capt. chairs, due to straight slide on fittings, they are going for silly money now.
As I've owned a Saab before, I know how incredibly comfy they are and will not be disappointed. Besides they're dead cheap too
cheers

Cheers for that mate, will give you a shout if needs be.
It is Frank, as it's on one of the gigs i have of his from the mid 60's, thousands of others have probably used it since though.
