which injection pump on 1.6td for biodiesel?

Hi, can you tell me what fuel injection pump is fitted to the 1.6td? I want to run it on biodiesel and understand the bosch pump is compatible so hoping this is the one fitted.

It is a Bosch, talked to a bloke yesterday (in Yorkshire) who runs his 1.6 TD off Biodiesel, with no ill-effects.
One thing he did say, which seems a common thing, is you MUST change the diesel fuel filter after a couple of weeks running the Bio, as it seems to clean all the crap out of the fuel pipes and tank and deposits it in the filter, causing a blockage. Once you have changed it it`ll be OK after that.

Bio diesel will kill 1.6 pumps. You need a late 1.9 idi pump if its proper bio your are planning on running. No pumps are compatible with cooking oil.

its the seals in the pump that may well stop you as due to experience the normal rubber seals in the pump get eaten by veg oil (they loose there flexibility) and you need a viton seal kit for the bosh pumps which is veg oil resistant.

The mechanicals of the pumps are not upto veg oil. Bosch do not make pumps or injectors suitable for veg oil.
