				HELP - I KILLED IT - any advise appreciated

				Right, 1st the initial problem, slowing down for a roundabout, let the clutch up in 2nd and there was a bang and judder from the back and then no drive.
I can select any gear freely without touching the clutch but no drive in any gear, when i do press the clutch pedal it only goes down half way then feels like its hitting something solid.
Any advise on what to check as soon as wee get some dry weather and daylight.

				check that linkage to gearbox is all present and correct and that action at the gearstick is mirrored by action at the gearbox, thus if you are in fact selecting gears but with the engine running there is no drive then the clutch has failed, and friction plate is not driving the gearbox input shaft, or pretty unbelievably the input shaft sleeve has come adrift and come backwards (inside the box) and the stud has snapped and the input shaft is no longer turning the mainshaft.

check that the drive shafts are on and intact , also check the clutch slave cylinder hasnt fell off

				The clutch operating shaft has a nasty little habit of wearing flat where the release sits. This then creates a 'corner' You put your foot on the clutch and the release clicks over the corner, leaving the clutch disengaged.
Reach down to the clutch operating lever under the slave cylinder and pull it upwards. If it comes up and the clutch works for a few times, that is the problem.

				my mechanic has been round for a quick look and is confident its just the clutch. just need to get it moved off the road and onto the drive so he can start stripping it.

				I had exactly what you described....the release bearing had come off from the forks.........
If your lucky, nothing will be broken but you will need a new realease bearing coz the clips will be bent.....!
I changed the forks which were really worn........now thats a fun job I can tell you!!!

				well the mechanic was supposed to be coming today to tow it to his garage to strip it down, but it is still sat on the road where its been for the last week. ho hum
