Hi all, :D
The switch was in the dash but it had a clear screen in the rear, so I thought I would get the heated screen for it 8)
I changed the glass over, first time no problemo 8)
Ok, where do I connect it to, I know I will trace the cables from the front to the rear. I popped the switch out **** no wiring attached :(
So now I have a switch, a screen and no wiring :(
Is it just a case of running a 12v supply or is it more complext than that :?
Please help

the original wiring runs along the top of the van, in the channel where the int lights live, one single wire, using the body as neg.
you will need a relay, becuase the switch wont handle the current needed.

Thanx Mocki
That makes life a bit easier :) apart from I have carpeted over said channels and from memory the only wires in there where for the lights :(
Ok that easy enough to get around, I take it GSF will know which relay I need.
The next problem is where do I stick it, dont answer that one

well you dont have to run your wires there, i was just pointing out that where they should run......
a standard 30 amp auto relay, pretend the HRW is a psir of driving lamps, and you will be well away......about £4 from any automotive suppliers, or halfrauds for about £6 in the boy racer lighting section, next to the silly washerjet leds near the big bore zorst tailpies!!

VW didn't fit a relay for the rear screen! Full current goes through the genuine switch. No harm in a relay though.

Sounds like you don't have the dash loom for a rear screen but you might have the thick black wire that goes from behind the fusebox to behind the rear intereour lamp next to the slider (left side) - if thats there then wireing wont be very hard.
