I have a 1982 air cooled 2 lt van

I also have a very cross husband lying underneath swearing like a trooper

the problem - I bought new wheels that needed longer wheel studs, got the studs and hubby had all the usual problems getting the hub nut to release - bought the special spanner and sorted, but he noticed that the cv boot was shot.
got new cv boots, he took everything apart as per haynes manual. but the thing with the bearings in (sorry don't know the technical term  ) was very diffuclt to fit back together, after much swearing he thought he'd solved it. put it back on the van, greased it all up and now the wheel will only turn 1/4 turn each way.

is there a solution to this problem or does anyone know of any nice mobile mechanics in my area who charge a reasonable rate...........
.....................pleeeeeeease!

huuummmm...... so, you have took the hubs off, fitted new longer studs, and now the wheel will only turn a 1/4 .......

are the studs seated all the way home?

is it the same if the wheel and drum are off?

Is it in gear?

he's managed to sort it out now, i think he'd put the cv joint back together wrong - there was no wheel on when he was turning it.

found this link on the wiki

hi, I think he must have put the seat runners on upside down!
Joking, of course. Seats OK now?
Anyway, it seems the problem is sorted. If not, give me a call. I am not an expert but....... I know a man who is! Well, sort of :? May take a few days for a reply but I will try to help.
