Hello All

Bought these on fleabay before christmas, and after major hassles with couriers, Tony (of Nicola and Tony fame) saved the day by collecting them for me and meeting me when I was in the area on business!

Thanks again marra, you are a star ~ it's people like this who make the VW scene and 80-90 in particular what it is.

Anyway, ripped the 20 year old springless monstrosities out, and taught myself to arc-weld!! Ended up grinding off the rails on the drivers side as the audi seats are an inch or so higher than the VW ones. Mrs Hutch is on the short side so her seat was welded in over the existing rails.

The rails that the seats run on are 5mm wider overall than the VW ones.. I would recommend removing the VW rails completely though ~ drill the spot welds out then you have a nice flat (ish) bed for the audi sliders to be positioned on.

You're welcome mrhutch, I enjoyed drinking all that lager that you provided in return! :trunk Looks like your welding skills are coming along nicely! Good to see that you got sorted.

Tony :ok

cheers lloyd..

Dunno about the gearknob, but the bent extension was on when I bought the van.. took a bit of getting used to especially as it's got the five speed box with 1st in the "wrong" place. I was used to 4 speed with the old Aircooled van.
