Anyone doen it whats involved?

what you trying to do?? to remove the whole unit, turn the gas off at the bottle, undo the gas at the propex unit, scrabble about under neath and take the exhaust and inlet off. back inside and dissconnect it at the battery or fuse box, on the unit there's a little lid that covers up the wiring connections, if you are not totally sure what you are doing, cut the wires instead of undoing the treminals, this way you will be able to replace them like for like when you come to put it back in! get the thermostat and if you can get at it easily the wires between the unit ant the stat, if you can't don't worry cos just about any 4core wire will do, telephone or data cable will do!

cool cheers mate ,should have said whole units got to be sent to propex for a flame sensing board/refurb

so its
1)gas off
2)battery off(duno where this is though?)
3)remove gas union
4)remove wires
5)remove ducts
6)remove bolts to body

Couple of plates either side to bolt it down to the floor. These need removing to release from the floor.

After removing the gas supply - the box just lifted up - then release the electrical bits (just a terminal connector I think.

Was one of the first things I did on the van.

Reconnecting on return from propex was trickier (more to do with the position of the heater in a cupboard - and connecting to the gas again (buy some NEW olives (B&Q do em) and cut the old one off the end of the pipe.
If you are not happy doing this (it is the gas supply to the heater and you don't want it to leak....) then find a caravn type place who do heaters.
