Is The VW aerial cable connector different?

Trying to install a non VW specific fleabay radio but aerial cable doesn't plug straight in. Whats the name of the adapter needed? Got one from maplin i thought'd fit but it doesn't...

I had to get one from (I'm ashamed to say) Halfords, I just looked for whatever looked as if it might fit and guesed right. There were several on the shelf so I think it might be a regular thing. Sorry not much help.
