Quick repaint.....

Hi all,

As i've almost finished building my interior, i asked my manager last week if i could get the van in bodyshop for repaint.

He agreed but only if i could get it done asap, he's given me 3 weekends(Sat's only, some weeknights).

So its all hands on deck, myself and Phil (the panel beater) went in today and stripped the van.

Thought the van was soild appart from a little rust around the windows

But as you can see i ended up cutting a little section on 2 windows out, as they were too pitted to save.

Cleaned all seams out and generally derusted.

12 hours work so far

Will keep added pic's as we do a bit......

Try getting a part time job in a Bodyshop Sherlock, then all your dreams will come true

To be honest Sherlock, i'm not to happy doing the bodywork in such a short time. But at the moment its my only option.

Would love to do a proper job on the van.....replace all rusty areas, make every panel perfect, fit roof and do a really flash pearl paintjob.

Never mind one day

Titus; the colour is a Italian Transport colour. Don't know the excact name for it, i just picked the colour from the swatches at the paint supplier.

Its not Electric Orange like yours is :(
I did my Honda Hornet in that coulour couple of years ago, still love the colour now.

Ok folks here goes, hope ya all like??? :?
Its taken me a total of 40 hours to prep and paint the van, alot longer than i thought it would (down to the fact that there was loads of badly repaired panels),
Masked up ready for Orange.
[img][IMG:640:480]http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee82 ... MG2788.jpg[/img]
Orange applied.
[/img][IMG:640:480]http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee82 ... MG2789.jpg[/img]
Masking off.
[img][IMG:640:480]http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee82 ... MG2811.jpg[/img]
[/img][IMG:640:480]http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee82 ... MG2805.jpg[/img]
[img][IMG:640:480]http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee82 ... MG2815.jpg[/img]

So what ya all think??? :D

Just the Merc wheels left to paint now,40mm drop suspension, interior to fit and complete. Just in time for out great British summer

Just noticed the lines look a bit wonky, think its the images for some reason. The lines don't look like this in the flesh.

I hope your Jemax kit fits ok, mine was higher at the back than the front (dragster style) I had to get 60s on the back in the end to make the van level.

by mellowyellow
Nah Sherlock, the rear end is higher than the front but i did half expect it. :x
Will have to get some 60mm springs for back i think??
Gunna wait and see whats its like when all the doors and interior are fitted.

Mine didnt shift at all, I gave them about a month to settle but no joy so thats when I went down 60 on the rear, now it's spot on.
