Once a T3 man now live in the T4 forum however my problems needs to go far and wide.. I bought a 97 t4 LHD westy with VW eberspacher in it probably a D2 base.

I have an F12 fault code on the dash display. ( overheat duct blockage switch off fuel pump) I think it was a big foot on the vent that caused this.

I took the van to Eberspacher dealer in Peterborough called PARKINSON. They have taken the heater out of the van.
They can not plug in their fault code reader and effect the reset because the connectors on the westfalia are 16 pin round (VW fitted) and do not correspond with standard Eberspacher fittings!
Eberspacher UK have not offered any help and told my garage that they should not have removed the unit its a VW issue even though i believe the unit is Eberspacher based.

Westfalia have not offered me any help yet either but i have asked for details on VW contacts in germany but no replies and when i asked them to identify the heater they said i would need to speak to VW. I assume in Germany too.

Not speaking German I may have a big problem.

I know VW UK will be useless and Parkinson are getting no where with them.

The wires in the Westfalia version are different colours to standard Eberspacher so its not easy to make a temporary connector.

Ive seen the wiki etc but can see no way round my current demise.

Any of you have any suggestions tricks I can pass on otherwise Ill need to refit a new one / 2nd hand one which seems a bit mad.

What are the wiring loom colours of the unit? I can`t see Eber making a D2 unit for VW with non-standard colours in their side of the loom, I`ve just done a D2 fitment, unit was out of a Ford van (had an OE Ford sticker on it so factory fitted job) and that had the standard loom colours.

I`ve got the Eber diagrams etc here if you can find the colours out, they`re easily available from various sources. Fault codes usually reset with fuse withdraw/replace.

I don't have the unit at home (its at the dealer in peterborough) thats a bit tricky to talk about colours but is there anything you can send me that i can pass on?

When you say fuse out, I assume you mean power disconnected. I did this in the van when it first showed a fault but I did it to check the fuse wasnt the fault. It made no difference.

The big round pin connector was disconnected and reconnected to no avail.

Somethings not right about all this it seems too complicated for its own good

I purchased a D2l from Germany which came from a T4 as you say the wiring loom had a circular plug.
I had to swap the wiring looms over to wire it up to the T3.

Were the wiring loom colours compatable with the older loom Rob??

having got the unit back I can see that mine turns out to be D3LP. Ive tracked down a mechanic who thinks he can fix this. I hope so.

eight more wire going to the dial (thermostat).
My Timer only has 6 so not sure what they are all for.
The dial is made by Hella and not Eber though.
