2.1 dj engine , just reading the haynes manual it says i need to depressurise the fuel system ! before changing the fuel filter , its says disconnect earth from fuel pump and crank starter untill engine stops this is now depressurised.

now i understand i can change the fuel filter , is that all there is to it do i need to do anything to get it pressuried once the new on is on or is it just and matter on turning the engine over ?

and out of intrest why do we need to depressurise ? what happens if you dont ?

thanks folks.

well you would get petrol spraying all over you...the repressurization will return on turning on the ignition
