From a df 1.9 to a 2.1 dj, apart from water pipes, would i need to change the petrol tank for the fuel injection system or put a carb on, and any other advice on parts needed would be much appreciated, cheers....

fuel tanks are the same I think. You will need the engine loom for a 2.1 including fuel pump wiring, fuel pump and filter housing. I am not 100% sure but think the cooling system is the same so no extra bits needed and the last other thing is the exhaust. Again not 100% sure if different but engines are the same so should be able to use. All engine mounts are reusable. Hope this bit helps,

I have a 2.1 "turn key" (used) on order, but have had various comments from different people about extras needed for the conversion, thanks for your help, cheers..

Take the injector system off the 2.1 and use the carb from the 1.9 - that's what we have done - on two vans. Both running LPG too. Depending on whether you have "early" or "late" cooling pipes on the 1.9, you may need to "cut" the main front to back pipes a little - which is what we had to do on our A reg 1.9 to put in a 1990 2.1
Easy replacement - with another pair of hands we had the 1.9 out and the 2.1 in and running in a day! (8am-4pm)

They do run OK on carbs and gas makes them safer due to the very high compression and running on carb and low octane fuel. If you use a carb, make sure you get your timing right. There isn't a margin when you deal with high compression. Burnt pistons are expensive.
If you're sticking to carbs, a pair of single chokes, on type 3 manifolds will transform even the 2.1 performance. A pair of 40s will make it ballistic!

Glad you saw DF Mocki, I missed it and thought it was a DG.
DF carb will probably suck down the manifold
